Addendum for the Coaches' Manua

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
A. Uniforms Each player will receive an official uniform, consisting of a T-shirt and shorts. Uniforms belong to the players and are not turned back into the league at the end of the season.

Players must wear their official uniform in all league games. Substitute shorts and sweatpants will not be allowed, except in the High School Divisions. Each player must provide his or her own pair of court shoes which must have non-marking soles to protect the wooden floors. Male players are encouraged to use athletic supporter during all practice and game activities.

Players will be required to wear the shirts issued them by the league. Any deviation from the original condition of the shirt at time of issue will not be allowed (i.e. writing, drawing, and cutting sleeves off). Violations will result in one Technical Foul, charged to each offending player, prior to the start of the game (free throws and subsequent in-bounding of the ball by the opposing team). In the High School divisions only, both color and style of shorts will be left to the discretion of coaches and players.

Message from the RPB Scorekeeper

Thanks for the comments about the RPB home page. I have to apologize for not keeping the scores up to date lately. My eight-year-old computer finally died and I've been taking time getting its replacement working. The RPB Red Sheet (shown here as the RPB News) is the first production from the new computer, using MS Publisher. I'll get the scores updated next week and plan to add more features to the web page. A few parents and coaches have offered to help with the addition of game summaries and other commentary. If you would like me to post some text or other materials from your games, just send them to me at the RPB Email address. Thanks.

Message from the RPB President

  • To all Referees, Coaches, and Players: All players (except High School boys) must wear the shirt and shorts given to them. Neither may be altered (e.g. cut off sleeves). On Saturday, January 24 any players not in full uniform will be given warnings. As of Saturday, January 31, any player, not in proper uniform will NOT play.
  • Coach Clinic II will be held Monday, February 2 at 7:00 at Canyonside Rec Center. All coaches should make an effort to attend, since this was requested by a large majority of those attending the first clinic.
  • Coaches: Please only bring two balls to the games for warm-ups. Please keep them in your possession until your game/warm-up time. We are trying to enforce our policy of not having any spare balls in the gyms.
  • Referees, Coaches and Players: The time between quarters is for the teams playing the current game. We do not want players swarming onto the court to take a few shots in this spare time. Note that nobody except coaches should have balls in the gym (see #3 above). If the problem persists, we will consider confiscating the extra balls.
