Ideas for Revisions to the Coaches Manual
- Reword the section for players arriving late to resolve conflicting language
for players who arrive in the third or fourth quarter. If they arrive in the
4th quarter, can they still play?
- For player arriving in second half when team starts with 6 players. The
3-complete-quarters rule should continue to apply to the original six players.
That is, none of the original six should have to sit out for the entire second
half.
- Clarify what to do with the clock if a whistle is blown at 1:02 (or thereabouts)
and the clock is running... Stop it at 1:00.
- Clarify "Offensive Fouls". Are they team fouls? Does the other
team shoot free-throws? (My interpretation: First, we should go by the regular
HS rules, since RPB rules don't say anything about this. Second, the way I
teach this in the scorekeeper's clinic is that the fouls do count as team
fouls, but no shots are taken, whether or not a bonus situation exists.)
