Official Score

The official score of an RPB game is the running score marked on the top and bottom of each scoresheet. When a player scores a basket, the scorekeeper should cross out the points so that the last number crossed out is the score for that team. If the player scored a 2-point basket, then the scorekeeper crosses out both points and marks the number of the player who scored above the crossed-out numbers.

 

If a scorekeeper forgets to mark the running score or marks it incorrectly, this results in an incorrect official score for the game. To correct an incorrect game score, the coaches of both team need to contact the RPB Scorekeeper (hoop@rpbasketball.org) to report the correct score of the game. If both coaches agree, then the official score of the game will be corrected.
